Sunday, April 22, 2018My deepest condolences to the family and friends of John. God comfort us and give us the courage to bear our pain. He does so mainly through his Word, the Bible, and through the gift of prayer. Paul tells us that God lovingly gives us His Word, so that through the comfort from the Scriptures we might have hope. Additionally, through heartfelt prayers, we can come to experience the peace of God that excels all thought. Roman 15:4; Phil 4:7. Visit JW.org.

Monday, February 12, 2018I'm so sorry I missed John's funeral. I just found out today 2/12/18. John was a great friend and a very good basketball player. We would go round and round joking with each other about the years we played ball at good old Filer High. We also attended church together at Filer First Baptist. I will miss John but I know my life was enriched by having him as my friend. May God bless his family. Yours in Christ, Ray Herd (class of 1961)

Saturday, January 27, 2018I am sorry to hear of John's passing. He was such a great man who made an impact on my life because of his friendship with my parents. In fact, John went out of his way to see Mom (Irma) seven years ago after tracking her down through talking to Kevin and me. He felt it was important after our dad passed away. Please know the Cato family is thinking of you all during this time of loss. May the wonderful memories that showed in the video keep his light bright in your lives.

Saturday, January 27, 2018What a wonderful video and depiction of John and his family. It is obvious that his family was highly treasured by him. I also know that John loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ more than anything, and lived much of his life living out his faith on the ground, in men's ministry, and in relationships. Though John suffered with dementia in the end, I will never forget that the second time that I saw John, he walked up to me like I was a life long friend and called me by name, asked about my family by name, and every time I saw him, whether it was at Valley Life, or TFRC he always made a point of greeting me. He truly took an interest in other people and it was impossible not to consider John as a friend. My prayers are with his family as it is bitter-sweet to know that John is no longer with us here, but he is alive and well with Jesus now! May God's grace, peace and comfort be with the entire McCandless family that he treasured so much.

Wednesday, January 24, 2018John was a good friend for many years. He made a connection with me shortly after I was saved in my early teens and he stayed in touch with me over the past 40 years. What a gem John was. He will be missed, but am so grateful for the investment he made in my life. Blessing and comfort to the family.
