William Edwin “Bill” Greene, a resident of Filer, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving wife and children.
Bill Greene was born on August 13, 1939 to James Frederick and Margueritte Greene in Bloomingdale, Indiana. Bill’s parents moved their family to Texas in 1947, where he first met his future wife, Paula Ann Apperson. They were married on December 3, 1960 and recently celebrated their 60th anniversary together. They were blessed with three children - Rhonda DeAnn, William Alan, and Mark Arron.
Bill began his lifelong career as an electrician working for the Tuco Power Plant in Abernathy, Texas. While working for El Paso Power & Gas, Bill had the opportunity to work in Soda Springs, Idaho. He loved everything that Idaho had to offer and decided to move his family to Boise in 1972. Following the move to Idaho, he started his career with Idaho Power. He had a full career with Idaho Power, but after his first retirement, he went back and worked for them for another 18 years. Bill and Paula eventually settled in Filer where his lifelong dream of owning his own farm, Greene Acres, was achieved.
Bill was a man of many talents and was well-known to always find the best bargain. He was able to fix anything and was always willing to share his wealth of knowledge and information with his children and grandchildren. He loved to travel around scenic Idaho and the Pacific Northwest taking “morning rides” on his motorcycle with Paula. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with family and friends. He had a special place in his heart for the church of Christ and Camp Ivydale in Idaho City.
Bill is survived by his wife, Paula, and his three children, ten grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. His family and friends will miss him dearly but take solace in the many good memories they have of their loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Paula and her children would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Heritage Home Health & Hospice staff for the care they showed to Bill and his family.
Services will be held on Thursday, February 4th at Rosenau Funeral Home in Twin Falls with a viewing at 9:30 am and services to follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park following the services.
