William “Bill” Lloyd Galkin, 73 of Twin Falls passed away Monday, April 2, 2012 at St Luke’s Magic Valley Regional Medical Center. He was born July 20, 1938 in Los Angeles, California to William J. and Anna Morzov Galkin. Bill grew in California. He joined the Navy and served in the Bay of Pigs and Vietnam. While attending Antelope Valley College he met Carol Russell his soon to be wife. Upon receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Navy he served until retirement with the National Weather Service. His stations included: Sandpoint, CA, Antarctica, Boise, ID and Kimberly, ID. Upon retirement he taught at T.F.C.A. and did lawn care on the side. Bill was a member of the Grace Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Carol Galkin, Twin Falls, ID, sister and brother-in-law Phyllis and Morrie Maxwell, Yuma, AZ, children, Christina Sizemore, Roseau, MN, Nicola Paz, Kimberly, ID and William Galkin, Morrison, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents William J. Galkin and Anna Morzov Galkin. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the Grace Baptist Church in Twin Falls with Pastor Mark Sjostrom officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00-9:30 am the day of the services at the church. Burial will follow the services at the Magic Valley Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Hansen, ID.
