Twyla Jene Lively, 78, passed away peacefully in her home in Twin Falls on November 24, 2015 after a long illness. She spent her last days surrounded by family and friends. Jene was born in Southard, Oklahoma, on April 24, 1937, the only child of L.E. “Ted” Worley and Gladys Worley. She moved with her family to Buhl in 1945 and then to Twin Falls in 1953. Jene followed in her mother’s footsteps, working as a telephone operator for Mountain Bell in Twin Falls and Pocatello. She married Phillip W. Lively, Jr. at the First Baptist Church in Twin Falls in 1956. To this union five children were born.
Jene had a passion for music, reading and her family. She could always be found playing the piano or organ at any church she attended. She shared her love of books as the “Book-It lady” at Twin Falls Christian Academy.
Jene is survived by her husband Phillip, sons Douglas (Connie) of Twin Falls, Russell (Kerry) of Jackpot, Daniel (Nicole) of Lewiston, and daughter Cynthia of Twin Falls, fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son David and granddaughter Rebecca. A memorial service will be held on Monday November 30, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Rosenau Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home.
