THOMAS DEE DAVIS – January 16, 1936 – February 7, 2020
Thomas Dee Davis, 84, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2020.
Tom was born in Nephi, Utah on January 16, 1936 to Daniel and Daveda Davis. He graduated from Juab High School in 1954 and then entered the US Air Force where he served for 4 years. Tom attended Snow College and Utah State University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics with a minor in Animal Husbandry.
Tom married the girl next door, Jacqulin Cooper on October 12, 1956, in Nephi, Utah and they were married for 63 years.
Tom’s career took them to several cities throughout the country where he worked as a salesman for Swift & Co and Oppenheimer Industries. An opportunity to farm with JBD Farms brought them to Idaho, where he farmed over 4000 acres in the Hagerman valley for 20 years. Tom then became an agronomist for Terra International and later retired with Landview Fertilizer in 2012.
Tom was an avid sports fan, there was never a time when a sporting event was not on in the household. In his earlier years he enjoyed bowling, fishing, golf, even shooting trap, but his passion was baseball. Tom was a pitcher at Snow College and coached his sons in both Little League and American Legion but took the most pride in watching them and eventually his grandson excel at the game. His strong sense of competition could be heard in the crowd and he always had a few “pointers” to pass on afterwards.
Tom is survived by his wife, Jackie and three children Guy (Judy) Davis of Santa Rosa, California, Kyle (Jessica) Davis, of Brooklyn, New York, Ange (Andy) Henning, of Twin Falls, Idaho, 5 sweet grandchildren with 1 on the way and 5 beautiful great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11am on Friday, February 14th at Sunset Memorial Park in Twin Falls.
