Tex Anderson, age 87, died July 15, 2014 with family at his side.
Tex Edwin Anderson (yes, Tex is his given name) was born at home in Hilmar, Calif. on May 15, 1927 to parents, Simon and Verna Anderson. He was the second child out of six. He attended school in Hilmar. He was baptized, confirmed and a member of Berea Lutheran Church. He was currently a member of the loving family of Clover Trinity Lutheran Church .
Tex loved and married Ruth C. Mitchell on April 9, 1949. They were married for 58 years. Tex milked cows and farmed for others until he was able to build his own dairy barn and purchased his own herd in 1963. His dairy was named one of the top Merced county dairies by Merced Dairy Association in spring 1971. In 1973 they decided to move to Idaho to build another dairy and continue the family farm in a small town with open space. He retired from farming in 1997 and moved to Buhl where he could still garden and look out to fields that surrounded him. He enjoyed fishing and visiting with friends and family.
Tex is survived by his sister, Carolyn Robinson of Montana; daughters, Kathy (Bob) Bell of Jerome, Id., Laurel (Jim) Monroe of Filer, Id., and Sandra (Ed) Irvin of Carson City, NV; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; one sister, Helen Healton , three brothers; Curtis A. Anderson, Charles Anderson, Michael Anderson and one son, Curtis E. Anderson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Clover Lutheran Church in Buhl at 10:00 a.m. arrangements are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home & Crematory.
