Sylvia Wybenga

Sylvia went to heaven on November 20,2023. She left this life peacefully at Cascadia Care. She was born in Artesia California to Charles and Rena Reitsma on June 28, 1942.

She married Clarence Wybenga on September 22, 1960 in Artesia California. They lived in various places in California, Washington and ended up in Twin Falls, ID for the past 17 years.

Sylvia was a very compassionate person. In her younger years and then again later in life she volunteered at the hospital. That compassion was used as she cared for several people at the end of their lives.

Sylvia loved being a mom. She always said that the years raising her three children were the best years. Then she became a grandma which was her new joy. Then when she became a great grandma, she became known as gigi. She loved babies and children of all ages.

Sylvia went straight to beauty school from High School and received her cosmetology license. She loved doing people's hair. It made her very happy to help someone feel good about how they looked. She worked in several different salons over the years. She loved people.

Sylvia was a member of New Covenant United Reformed Church in Twin Falls, ID.

In all the places she lived she was always involved in the church she attended. Her walk with Jesus was very strong.

In her later years Sylvia took up painting. She was so talented and so enjoyed painting.

Sylvia is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Clarence. Her three children Steve (Sandy) Wybenga, Rob (Greta) Wybenga of Twin Falls, ID, LaVonne (Tim) Orth of Prosser, WA. Nine grandchildren Amanda, Brandon, Michael, Alyssa, Sabrina, William, Gerrit, Jaclyn and Robert. Eight great grandchildren Chyenne, Marianne, Taylor Lane, Ryder, Preston, Fallon, Chloe and one on the way.

Sylvia was proceeded in death by her parents, brothers Richard (Dick) Reitsma, Louie Reitsma sister Betty Postma, Grandson Steven Wybenga, son in law Jim Boogerd and several nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be Friday night December 1, from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave E Twin Falls.

We will celebrate Gods Faithfulness in Sylvia’s life Saturday December 2, 2023, at 11:00 am at Rosenau Funeral Home.  A online viewing of her service will be on her obituary page at www.rosenaufuneralhome.com.
