Our cherished husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa lost his courageous battle with cancer and passed away while at his home in Twin Falls, Idaho on April 18, 2011. Stanley John Miller was born May 9, 1926, to Steve and Verna J. Miller and was the youngest of three children. He grew up in Dry Creek, Montana, and graduated from Belgrade High School in 1944. Stanley enlisted in the Army in 1944 and was a member of the military police. During an Army furlough, he married his high school sweetheart, Helen Fern Curtis, on August 22, 1945. Following his discharge he returned to the family farm north of Belgrade to dry land farm with his Dad. In 1959 as a veteran of WWII, Stanley participated in the Reclamation Act and was fortunate to draw a homestead on the north side of Rupert, Idaho. This is where he and his young family settled and farmed for 45 years. In 2004 Stanley and Helen made one more move to Twin Falls to be closer to family. Stanley was a proud American and was honored to have served his country. He was a long-time member of the American Legion and was also a member of NARFE. Stanley J. Miller was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister and their spouses. He is survived by his grieving wife, Helen, of 65 years; son David Miller; daughters.
