Thomas Scott Jensen, 65, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully on the morning of February 4, 2022. Known as a gentle man, Scott will be missed dearly by all.
Scott was the firstborn son to Keith and Marjorie (Hafer) Jensen born on June 10, 1956 in Twin Falls, Idaho. Keith, a proud father, said at their first meeting "those hands will make a fine football player," and they certainly did.
Scott graduated from Kimberly High School in 1974. He was active in multiple sports, his favorite being football. He was also actively involved in the Boy Scouts with his father, where he became an Eagle Scout. After high school, Scott graduated from CSI with his associates degree in business. Scott then joined the workforce and began his career in management. Scott's passion for automobiles led to his long career in parts management for several dealerships in the Twin Falls area.
In 1976, with the help of his yellow Mustang, Scott won the heart of his "five-foot one bundle," Ileta Hanchey. They married on October 9, 1976 in Twin Falls, Idaho. During their 45 years of marriage, Scott expressed his love to his wife through countless poems on every occasion. Scott always reminded Ileta’s sisters, “I have the cream of the crop!”
Together Scott and Ileta had 3 children, Joshua (Rita) Jensen, Tyler (Brittani) Jensen, and Sarah (Andy) Coats. Scott was blessed with 6 grandchildren, Ayden, Easton, Sophia, Elli, McKenzie, and Zachary. They were his pride and joy, soothing them as infants on his shoulder in his special, gentle way. Scott loved his family very much.
As a young father, Scott followed in his father's footsteps and became involved with the Boy Scouts of America as Scout leader for Pack #65 at the First Christian Church. He helped his son, Josh, attain his Eagle Scout Award. He remained actively involved in the scouting program for many years.
Scott was an avid NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan and could often be found watching the races on Sunday afternoons. One of the highlights of his life was attending a race in Las Vegas with his brothers.
Scott is survived by four younger siblings, Mike, Brian (Lari, deceased), Todd (Julie), and Lisa Jensen; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Keith, and sister-in-law Lari Jensen.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Joseph Waters and Dr. Richard Hammond and nurse Gina Beach for Scott's exceptional care.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Park, Twin Falls, Idaho. Service under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home.
