Ruby Joyce Don passed away on January 2, 2023, at Canyons Retirement Community in Twin Falls, Idaho. Ruby was born on April 5, 1935, in Jeffers, Minnesota, to Jacob and Elizabeth (Dick) Foth. Ruby spent her childhood in Mountain Lake, Minnesota, graduating from Mountain Lake High School in 1953. She received her BA degree from Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon, in 1989. Ruby moved to Salem, Oregon, in 1953, to live with her parents. She married Marlin Schaad in 1954. There were three children born of that marriage. She worked for Allstate Insurance Company and State Farm Insurance Company as an underwriter. Her insurance career spanned 28 years. She was always active in her church, teaching Sunday school, working the Angel Tree, involved with Stephen Ministries, plus many other areas of service. She dearly loved her Lord and was happy to serve wherever He placed her. In 1986 Ruby married Richard N. Don. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, son Bruce Schaad, parents Jacob and Elizabeth Foth, sisters Edna Crosby and Irene Fast, and brother Stanley Foth. She is survived by her daughters, Melodye (Bryan) Anderson of Twin Falls, ID, Rosanna (Todd) Pittman of Manson, WA, and stepdaughter Kathy (Thad) Pauck of Medford, OR; six grandchildren: Whitney (Raynor) Baker, Jordan and Travis (Cheyanne) Pittman, Haylie Anderson, Quinn and Kylie Pauck; one sister, Regina deVries of Salem, OR. Arrangements are under the direction of Rosenau’s Funeral Home in Twin Falls, ID. A memorial service will be held at Belcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Salem, OR, for close family at a later date.
