Rose Adela Ann Simonton, 79, of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 5, 2025, in Twin Falls, Idaho. Born on November 17, 1945, to Thomas Johnson Cantrell and Rose Bucher, she was lovingly raised in Pocatello by her mother and stepfather, Glen Bucher, after her father’s passing.
In 1964, Rose married Kent Sorensen, welcoming daughters, Tamara and Lisa. In 1974, she married Larry Simonton, blending their families, along with daughter, Nicole, and later welcoming Kristyn. They shared over 50 wonderful years together building a life filled with love, laughter and adventure, living in a few different states before landing in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Rose’s laughter was contagious, and those closest to her knew her “cheeky” sense of humor. Known as "Baby" and "Gravel" to her siblings—Eddie, Glenda, Laurie, Glennie, and Terri —she was a loving sister and second mother to them.
A determined and hardworking woman, Rose attended Idaho State University and built a career in medical administration ending in medical transcription. While she found fulfillment in her work, her greatest joy came from family. Known for her sharp wit, contagious laughter, and deep love for those around her, she faced life’s challenges with strength and grace.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry; daughters, Kristyn and Nikki Simonton; and great-grandchild, Moon Rose Walker (Randee & Brett). She is survived by her daughters, Tamara Quarve and Lisa (Kevin) Armstrong; siblings, Eddie (Joyce) Loya, Glenda (Craig) Hall, Laurie (Burke) Butler, and Terri (Mark) Christensen; and many cherished grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Rose’s warmth, humor, and unwavering love will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she cherished, and the memories she created will be treasured forever.
