Rose Marie "Rosie" Rosenau, 87, passed away on Saturday, July 29 after an extended illness.
Rosie was born April 22, 1930 in Wilton, North Dakota to Oscar and Pauline (Meth) Thor. She graduated from Wilton High School in 1948.
She married Russell Rosenau on October 25, 1952 shortly before he entered the military. Following his discharge, they made their home in North Dakota and Minnesota before moving to Twin Falls in 1967. She worked for many years at both the Twin Falls Clinic and the CSI Office on Aging. Rosie retired from CSI in 1995.
Rosie was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Together, she and Russell spent many years making personal home visits to hundreds of congregational guests. During their retirement, they travelled across much of the country. In 2004, they began a decade enjoying warmer winters in Mesa, Arizona.
Rosie is survived by two sisters: Viola Anderson of Cokato, Minnesota and Helma Rogers of Saint Paul, Minnesota; six nieces and nephews; her three children: Kevin (Kim) Rosenau of Twin Falls, Kurt (Tonette) Rosenau of Jerome, and Kim (Jay) Akkerman of Nampa; seven grandchildren: Keleigh (Dustin) Godfrey, Kirk (Kira) Rosenau, Kameron (Kristen) Rosenau, Amber (Nathan) O'Neal, Lauren Akkerman, Hailey Akkerman, and Parker Akkerman; as well as eight great-grandchildren: Joshua, Jaxson, Damon, Tucker, Andi, Teagan, Emmett, and Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a niece, and two sisters: Sadie Thor and Erma Sunblad.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 11th from 5-7PM at Rosenau Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 12 at Rosenau Funeral Chapel in Twin Falls.
Memorial contributions may be made in Rosie's honor to the First Church of the Nazarene Building Fund in Twin Falls or the Akkerman Ministerial Scholarship at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa.
