Robert R. “Robbie/Bob” Young. 71 passed away Friday afternoon August 26, 2011 at his home in Twin Falls, Idaho surrounded by his family. Robbie (Bob) was born in San Diego, California on July 28, 1940. He spent most of his life there except the years he lived in Santa Cruz, California. Robbie lived his life on his terms and enjoyed every moment of it. At a very young age he fell in love with motorcycles. He always had the fastest and loudest bike. Along with this love of bikes his other interests were golf and trap shooting which he did all to the fullest. He was a member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association and the NRA. Robbie especially enjoyed his travels with childhood friend Neil where they explored Mexico and the deserts of Arizona and California. Robbie had a variety of jobs in his life but the one that he was most proud of was being a crane operator. He loved to tell anyone who would listen about the buildings and bridges he helped build. His grandsons never got tired of hearing his experiences. He was a 25 year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #12. In 2005 he and wife Dallas packed up their lives, said good-bye to friends and moved to Twin Falls, Idaho to be closer to kids and grandkids. He loved his family and was always excited to spend time with all. Robbie (Bob) is survived by his wife of 38 yrs Dallas Ann, brother Don, sister Elizabeth (Dave) Pilger and mother-in-law Alice Burgess. He is also survived by children; Colleen (Chris) Philips, Michael Hutchison, Linda (Tony) Collins, Scott (Jennifer) Hutchison; grandkids, Tiffany (Robert) Montoya, Rachel (Matt) Montalvo, Nicholas (Whitney) Collins, Christopher (Lindsey) Collins, Marcus (Stephanie) Montoya, Shane Young, Gabrielle, Kailey and John Phillips, Kelly and Erin Hutchison; 10 great-grandkids, many nieces and nephews and his very close childhood friends from San Diego that he considered his family. He was preceded in death by his mother Lois, father William, brother James, son Dennis, and daughter Annette Montoya. As his friends said “Robbie’s stories will live on for generations”. At Robbie’s request there will be no services. Cremation will be under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home.
