Robert John Petter was born on August 4, 1970, in Fontana, CA to Jack Petter and Tena van Vliet Petter. On December 2, 2021, Rob sustained cardiac arrest in Castleford, and on December 5th he passed away surrounded by his family at St. Luke’s Hospital.
Rob grew up in Chino, CA, where he attended Ontario Christian school Kindergarten through his Senior year. Rob played little league baseball and excelled at soccer and football, playing both sports all four years in high school. In 1988 Rob moved to Idaho with his family to work with his dad, though his heart always remained on the beach at Huntington, which was his favorite place and childhood stomping ground. He partnered with his dad on J&R Dairy, which he was very proud of. Rob enjoyed going to the cattle sales and had a good eye for purchasing quality heifers. Rob loved to fish, taking trips with his dad to Vancouver, Canada, as well as traveling several times to Mexico with his friend Ed.
In April 2006, he married Dana Winson, and they were blessed with the joy of their lives, Arie Raymond. They later divorced, but always remained close.
Rob, or Robo as most of his friends knew him, was very charismatic. He had friends near and far and had a quick sense of humor. He had a nickname for almost everyone, wheather you liked it or not. In the last several years, Rob helped care for his friends Neal (Grizz) Barigar and Ed Wheeler until their passing.
Rob was proceeded in death by grandparents, John and Ruth Petter and John and Mary van Vliet; uncles John Petter and Ralph Petter; friends Grizz Barigar and Ed Wheeler.
