Robert Earl Jensen returned to his Lord and Savior, Feb. 23, 2024, with his loving family surrounding him at University of Utah Hospital, after a brave two-month recovery from liver transplant complications.
Born to Gloria Evans and Robert “Bob” Edwards in Idaho Falls, Idaho, Sept. 24, 1959, Bob was later adopted by Donald Jensen in 1975. Bob was the oldest of five children, and a devoted older brother from his earliest years. He and the family lived in various cities in his youth spending most of his school years in Edmonds, Washington. He graduated from Woodway High School in 1977 and was an LDS Seminary graduate. Following graduation, he joined the U.S. Air Force at age 17 as a personnel technician. He served for seven years in which he was awarded Outstanding Airman of the year in 1979 by a four-star general. He was honorably discharged in 1984. He then went to work for the family business, In House Services, an appliance installing service in Riverside, California, until 1988. He then moved to Jackpot, Nevada, and worked in marketing for Cactus Pete’s. He moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, in 1990 and started the Aware House, a business selling recycled stationery in Ketchum, Idaho.
He then started working at Latham Motors as a car salesman. In 1997 he met his lovely wife Becky, and they were married in 1999. Later that year they welcomed their daughter Reanna, who quickly became Daddy’s girl. In 2001 he began a 20-year venture with Kickback Rewards System, working in multiple departments for the company. He had a passion for sales and could sell anything with his friendly and engaging personality. He enjoyed talking to people making sales easy for him. He got to do what he loved and traveled so much with the company. He was best known for his nickname “Kickback Bob.”
In 2007 they welcomed their son Seth, who quickly became his “Mini Me.” As a family Bob, Becky and the kids traveled a lot and made many wonderful memories. In 2022 they welcomed his granddaughter Saige to the world, and she immediately became the light of his life. He loved being a grandpa.
Bob never knew a stranger and made everybody he met his friend. He was incredibly social, loved people, was an avid book reader, and playing golf. His favorite version of camping was staying at the Hilton.
In May 2023, Bob earned his master’s degree in business administration from Boise State. He successfully did these studies while going through aggressive medical treatments for a series of ailments, astounding his family and many friends with his fortitude, strength and determination.
Bob was blessed with great faith and humility for his Father in Heaven and turned his life to the Lord in powerful ways as a father and husband. He was beloved and admired by two congregations, the Twin Falls Church of the Nazarene, and the Twin Falls 13th Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His testimony of Jesus Christ was a guiding light in his life and sustained him in his courageous battles with illness. Bob was a recipient of an organ transplant, and upon his passing became a generous organ donor himself.
The family wishes to express their great appreciation to the doctors and nurses at the University of Utah for all their efforts. He is survived by his dear wife Becky Jensen, daughter Reanna Jensen, son Seth Jensen, granddaughter Saige Jensen, mother Gloria Jensen; siblings Melodie Jensen, Layne Jensen (Anne Jensen), Norm Jensen (Kristi Jensen), and multiple other family members.
He is proceeded in death by his father Don Jensen, his biological father Robert “Bob” Edwards, a baby brother Don Jr., and a daughter Sabrina Jensen.
A funeral memorial will be held for Bob at the Twin Falls LDS 13th Ward on Monday, March 4, at 2085 South Temple Drive, with visitation at 10 a.m., and services at 11 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Snake River Canyon National Cemetery in Buhl.
