Poinciana, FL-Robert Hitchcock, 73, passed away on Tuesday, April 7th in Poinciana, Florida.
After a long illness, Robert H. Hitchcock, 73, passed away on Tuesday, April 7th, at Avante Nursing and Rehabilitation in St. Cloud, FL near Poinciana with his wife, Paula, by his side. Robert was born Dec. 10th, 1941 in South Gate, California to Hastings Goodhue and Florence Hitchcock and grew up in Jerome, Idaho. He married Linda Lee Trautwein in 1963. After 27 years of marriage, they divorced, and Linda passed away Oct. 25th, 2007. They had two children, Matthew Allen and Kimberly Ann.
Bob was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting. In later years he took up golf and it became his new passion. He was also a successful entrepreneur, starting two businesses in his life. In 1974 he started Industrial Electric Motor Service in Twin Falls and ran it until 2000 when he retired and turned it over to his son. In 2001, he and two partners started up an international business, Capital Turbines, which sold gas turbine generators around the world.
On Nov. 24th, 2003, Robert married Paula Chappell of Rhode Island. They enjoyed traveling around the world and they both loved playing golf. They lived in Murfreesboro, Tennessee until a few years ago when they moved to Poinciana, Florida, which is where he passed away.
He is survived by his wife-Paula Chappell (Florida), brother-in-law-Lance Chappell (Rhode Island), mother-in-law-Lottie Chappell (Rhode Island), two sisters-Delores White (St. George, UT) and Juanita Frasier (Rhododendron, OR), his son-Matthew Hitchcock (Twin Falls), and his daughters-Lori Brown (Tennessee) and Kimberly King (Idaho Falls). He also has three grandchildren-Kara Brown, Alyssa King, and Emily King.
He was preceded in death by his brothers-James and Charles Hitchcock, and his sister-Helen Hitchcock.
A celebration of his life will be held July 13, 2015 at Rosenau Funeral Home at 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, Robert has asked that donations be given to your local Humane Society as he loved animals and his dogs were a special part of his life and gave him great joy.
