Paul Earl Bamesberger, 56, was born: July 25, 1959 and passed away: January 16, 2016 after courageously battling ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) for two years. He died peacefully at home with his loving wife, Char, and son, Dustin & (his girlfriend, Deborah) at his side. Paul participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge to bring awareness to this insidious disease. Paul spent the first eighteen months of his life in Jerome, Idaho then his family moved to Twin Falls to continue farming. Paul and his father, Herb, farmed: The Family Farm side-by-side until Herb retired. Paul continued to work the farm until he decided to pursue his education in the addiction field. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School during his elementary years - graduating from Twin Falls High School with the class of 1977. Paul loved riding dirt bikes; spending many adventures riding in the South Hills. Later as an adult, he bought a BMW motorcycle, and loved taking off on long trips to see the country in the surrounding states and Canada. Paul and his wife, Char, took off on his: “Bucket List” after he was diagnosed. They traveled to: Mexico, Glacier National Park, and Texas (to attend a Formula One Grand Prix -race which was his passion.) He and Char also went on a helicopter tour of the Sawtooth Mountains. Paul was an active member of: Alcoholics Anonymous, having over 21 years of sobriety. The Recovery Fellowship describes Paul as a “Gentle Giant” who helped many fellow 12-Step members. Paul began his Associates Degree in 2008 at CSI, and maintained his studies - graduating in 2013 from Boise State with a Masters in Social Work. He began employment with the Twin Falls County – TARC- as an Addictions Counselor, and went into the local jail to bring Recovery to the inmates. Paul was preceded in death by his parents: Herb and Helen Bamesberger. He is survived by his:
Wife - Char Bamesberger ,Older Sisters – Emily (Ron) Rainey, Becky (Barry) Boe, Susan Bamesberger, Liz (Larry) Schultz, Sons - Dustin Young (Deborah Seeger) and Daimon Withers-Bamesberger Grandson - David Young ,Sister-in-Law - Whitney Byrd, and Uncle Irvin and Aunt Dorothy Ehlers. Paul was loved by many: Nieces, nephews and cousins - as he had a very large extended family.
