David “Neil” Shaw passed away in his home, surrounded by his family, on October 28, 2022. He was born on March 16, 1936 in Yorkshire, England the second eldest son to Robert and Mary Shaw. He grew up in England with his three siblings Robert “Bob”, Christine and Martin “Marty”. When Neil was 16, the whole family immigrated to Canada to begin a new life.
They settled in Kingston, Ontario, where Neil met the love of his life, Thelma Potter. He spotted her at a WYCA dance hall and worked up enough courage to ask her to dance. They were marred on November 3, 1956 and spent the next 67 years together. After the birth of their 2 children, Terry and Deborah, Neil packed up his family and immigrated yet again to the United States.
After moving around between California, Texas, and Nevada, they finally made a home for themselves in Elko, NV, where they lived for just over 30 years. As a local businessman, Neil opened Grand View Mobile Homes & RV which he ran for 30 years with Thelma by his side. They sold everything to include boats, RV’s, and mobile homes, which Neil would personally deliver.
After retirement, Neil and Thelma moved to Twin Falls, ID. From there the made trips all over the world, and headed south every winter to enjoy the warmer weather and time with friends.
Aside from his family, Neil had many passions in life which included trap shooting, model airplanes, fishing, camping, and a love of tinkering. He could fix almost anything with his mechanical mind.

The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to Visions Home Health for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time. A service for Neil will be held on November 5th, 2022 at Rosenau Funeral Home in Twin Falls at 10:00 am.
