NATHAN (ROB) WILSON
Sept 22 1958 - Dec 13 2016
On December 13 2016 our son, brother, dad, and friend lost his long very hard fought battle with cancer. Nathan was born Sept 22nd 1958 in Arizona to Will and Anne Wilson. From a young age he was sure of two things, he was going to be a drummer and people were going to call him Rob not Nathan. Turns out he was right about both. With his dad being in the Air Force Rob spent much of his youth moving all around the states. This trend carried on with him as a young man, spending time in Memphis, Austin, Eugene, and finally finding himself at home in Idaho. Rob's ability as a drummer had him playing with many different bands through the years and being known as one of the best blues drummers around. He was known by everyone and made many many friends over the years. He never met a stranger and everyone wanted to play with him. The world lost some of its rhythm when he passed. Rob was very proud of his children. He would never miss a chance to tell you what a phenomenal drummer Taylor was, what a cool little dude Gavin was and how precious his princess Ella was. Rob is survived by his son Taylor Robinson of New York, his young children Gavin and Ella Wilson of Eden, mom Anne(Paul)Danforth of Texas, brothers Mike(Gail) Wilson of New Mexico, Mark(Jackie) of Colorado, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. He was proceeded in death by his dad Will Wilson. There will be a celebration of life in the spring and the family will privately spread his ashes in the summer. The family would like to send a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Alpine Manor in Kimberly, his hospice nurse Amber and the rest of ST. Luke’s hospice staff. Any donations would be best given to Alpine Manor or help music reach kids with your local school music program.
