Mildred C. Stokesberry

April 10, 1925 — February 12, 2013

Mildred Corrine Stokesberry, 87, of Buhl was called home Monday Feb. 12, 2013. She will be happily watching over her loved ones, from heaven above. She was born to Rueben D. Long and Pearl Stonecipher Long on 04-10-1925 in Herdland, Mo. She attended school in Herdland through the 5th grade. The family then moved to Filer in April 1936. She completed elementary school at Central School in Filer. She graduated from Filer High in 1943. She worked at Woolworth and CC Andersons until 1946.Mildred married Leo Stokesberry on July 29, 1946 and became a homemaker. Leo and Mildred were then blessed with 3 beautiful children, Ronald E, Michael R, and Sharon K. They were later divorced on 04/22/1971. Mildred received her CNA Degree and returned to work. She worked at Harral's Nursing Home and Magic Valley Memorial Hospital through 1981. She left work to care for her ailing parents. When she returned to work she was employed by Staffing Services in Home Health Care. In 2000 Mildred took her brother, Emmet Long, into her loving hands, to care for him. Her joys in life consist of caring for her family, cooking, serving the Lord, and singing old hymns. In 2010 she moved into Country Living Care Center until Oct 2012, where she moved in with her Son and Daughter-in-law, Ron and Mary Ann Stokesberry, residing in Buhl. She was then called home, to finally be able to rejoin her family in heaven, which included all 3 of her loving children. Mom you will be greatly missed by all, as we were all blessed having you in our lives. Thank You for all the Love and Devotion you gave to everyone you have touched in your live. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rueben D. Long and Pearl S. Stonecipher Long; sisters, Iris Lundy, Ivorine Rutherford, Dortha Stokesberry; brothers, Loren Long and Emmet Long; daughter, Sharon Duncan; sons, Mike Stokesberry and Ronald Stokesberry; step-granddaughter, Jenny Anderson. Mildred is survived by her grandkids, Kim (Lonnie) Brutke, Krista (Casey) Reddick, Brian (Marie) Ballard, Ed (Jana) Duncan, Jason Stokesberry; step-grandkids, Barbara (James) LaMere, Michael John Burgoyne; great grandkids, Kyle, Tyler, Kelsie, Kayden, Kyla, Sara, McKayl, Leo and Ella; step-great grandkids, Mikala, Rylar, Sydney, Destiny, Damian, Tasia, Tyra. She is also survived by several close family members. The family would like to thank Dr. Ficklin and nurse Jayne, as well as the St. Luke’s Medical Center Staff and Hospice Visions for all the care and attention given to Mildred. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 16, at the Filer Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Filer Church of the Nazarene.
