Mike grew up on family farm in Kimberly, graduating in 1966- and joined the National Guard. Upon return from Guards, he began a career in construction as a carpenter. But the “reel” career was fishing and hunting. One hunting buddy said Mike always looked like he had just stepped out of Abercrombie and Fitch ad. He made one last trip to Canada to hunt geese in Oct. 2023. Marrying Sharon Federico in 1988 and having her 2 sons Mike and Corky in his life was the best decision he ever made. When Sharon passed in 2009, he was fortunate to have the 2 boys, their wives, and grandchildren to support him.

Mike was a man with many friends as seen by the classmates, family, fishing/hunting buddies, and neighbors that came to visit him that last week- full of hilarious stories of his life. Thank you all.

Surviving Mike is: Mike (Michelle) Federico; Corky (Terrie) Federico; Grandchildren Tiesha (Kyle), Bo (Jill), Sara (Dustin), Allison (Marlin). Great grandchildren Cameron, Beckham, Trey, Jayla, Finley, Foster, Fletcher. Sister Deb. Sister-in-law Jackie Drake and son Aaron (Laura). Nephew Jordan (Kayley), great nieces Ayla, Lilli. Cousin Jean Drake. Girlfriend Julie Groves.

Mike was preceded in death by his wife Sharon, both of his parents Frank and Peg Drake, his brother Jeff Drake, and his adopted son Justin Petersen Drake.

Celebration of life will be held July of 2024.
