Maude Louise Johns, affectionately known as "Louise," passed away peacefully at the age of 99 in Twin Falls, Idaho, on January 30, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Ivan Johns, with whom she shared 83 beautiful years of marriage.
Louise is survived by her children, Keith (Sharon) Johns and Linda (Richard) Walker. She was a cherished grandmother to Jeanette (Gordon) Davis, Jeff (Claudia) Johns, Dinah (Jeremy) Sharp, Dana (Mike) Rippey, John Odom, Leena (John) Hubert, and Brent (Molly) Watkins. Her legacy extends to more than 18 great-grandchildren, who will continue to honor her memory. Louise is also survived by her dear sister, Mary Lois Messner of Burley, Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Ivan; daughters Marcella Odom and Elizabeth Ann Watkins; son Stacey; grandson Layne Watkins; and one great-granddaughter.
Born on November 20, 1925, in Seymour, Missouri, to Joseph Calvin Dudley and Marjorie Opal Dudley. Louise was one of eight children. She spent her early years on the family farm in Seymour before moving to Murtaugh, Idaho, in 1947 and eventually settling in Twin Falls.
Louise was a devoted homemaker, working tirelessly in the fields, hoeing beets and beans, picking potatoes, and sorting beans in the bean houses. Her hands were never idle; she loved sewing and embroidery and spending time outdoors camping and fishing with her family. A woman of deep faith, she found great comfort in reading her Bible and was an active member of Higher Ground Ministries in Twin Falls.
In her final days, Louise was surrounded by her loving family, who shared memories, prayers, and songs. She was blessed with a final, precious visit from her only surviving sibling, creating cherished moments as she prepared to step into heaven.
A funeral service to celebrate Louise’s remarkable life will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 11 A.M., with a viewing at 10 A.M. at Rosenau Funeral Home in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Louise's legacy of love, resilience, and faith will forever be remembered by all who knew her. She now rests peacefully, reunited with loved ones who went before her, leaving a lasting impact on her family and community.
