Mary Rosetta Requa 89 of Twin Falls passed away on Tuesday February 23, 2021 at her home. Mary was born on March 27, 1931 in Hazelton, Idaho to Pat and Annie (Lovett) Ellis. She grew up in the Hazelton area and graduated from High School in 1949. She met and married Charles McFarland Requa on December 14, 1958. Mary went by “Rosie” or “Rose” to family. She worked for others cleaning houses, cooking and took an LPN training at St. Benedict’s. Charles passed away in 1982 and Mary went back to work cleaning, child care and CNA work. In 1993 she worked hard to pay on a new Mercury Topaz which she got to break in herself. About 16 years ago the state transportation department came to purchase property from Mary for US 93 giving her the money to build a new home. Since she grew up in shacks and an older farm home, she was very excited to get a new home that she would enjoy living in. Mary started attending Twin Falls Reformed Church in 1992. She was part of the Sunshine Circle and would help wash dishes. After a small accident left her homebound, she still had her children at home to help with the cleaning, cooking and personal care. Mary was her children’s rock and provided a stable home for them. Mary is survived by her three children Pat, June and Julie; and many friends. She is proceeded in death by one son, her husband, her parents; 2 sisters Norma Pickens and Ina Horejs; and one brother Gene Ellis. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday March 6, 2021 at 3:30 pm at Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave E Twin Falls. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mary’s memory to the Twin Falls Animal Shelter or the Twin Falls Reformed Church. The family would like to thank Harrison Hope Hospice for the loving care they gave to Mary.
