On April 13th the world lost a very kind and caring person, and heaven gained a special angel!
Mary was born October 15, 1937, at home on a farm south of Kimberly, to Charles and Effie Conway. She was raised in rural Hansen and in Twin Falls.
She married Roy Jacobs in 1954, to this marriage there were three children born, Denise, Marty and Tami. Mary and Roy later divorced.
Mary worked at the Depot Grill for a few years, then went to work at Koto’s Café, where she was a highly respected server for eighteen years.
She later married Bill Scott, who worked in the insurance industry servicing grain mills and elevators all over the West. Then they moved to Seattle, as Bill was promoted to the head office. Mary went to work managing a huge apartment complex in Federal Way for nine years. During this time Bill had several health issues and they moved back to Kimberly. She cared for Bill until his death. She then moved back to the Seattle area, where her parents had moved to. After her father passed away, her mother became ill, Mary then became her caretaker and moved herself and her mother back to Kimberly. She cared for her mom until her passing. Then moved back to the Seattle area, and managed another large apartment complex for a few years and then moved back to Kimberly. In time she met “T” Nauman at Dot’s Café, where she worked and he frequented. They eventually married, together Mary and “T” made many journeys; to Europe, a few cruises, and traveled throughout the United States. They then became “snowbirds” and spent a number of winters in Big River, CA, just outside of Parker, Arizona. Here they made many friends from all over the U.S. and Canada. Eventually “T”’s health prevented these winter trips. Shortly after that Mary became his caretaker, until his passing.
Mary was a very special, caring, kind person to all! She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. At the time of her passing she was attended by her caretaker daughter Tami and lifelong friend Beverly. Preceding her in death were, her parents, husbands, Bill and “T”, brother Charles, sister Freda, brother-in-law, Bob Gregg and daughter, Denise.
Left to mourn her passing are her sister Elizibeth Gregg, sister Dorothy (Mel) Leftkowitz, brother John, children, Marty (Sherrie), Tami (Tom) Billman. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Numerous nieces and nephews, many friends, some of whom are special, lifelong friends.
We want to give a heartfelt Thank You to Auburn Crest Hospice, and very special Thank Yous to the “Girls” Megan, Tosha and Sierra, who are simply very special, gentle, caring angels
