Mary Ann Dana

Mary Ann Perkins Dana passed away Friday, November 24, 2023 at the Canyons Retirement Community.

Mary was born April 24, 1931 in York, Nebraska. When she was 8,  the family moved to North Central Nebraska and eventually established a cattle ranch at Woodlake in the Sandhills. She graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1948.

On May 7, 1949 she married Bob Perkins and immediately moved to Idaho with his parents. Her first house was at Black Bear Corner in Buhl. They moved to Hansen in 1950 where they bought a permanent home.  Mary raised her family and continued to live in that same house until April 2022, when her failing eyesight forced her to move to Canyons Retirement Community.

We are sincerely grateful to the caring staff at the Canyons. Because of their compassion, Mary wasn’t alone when she passed.

Mary is survived by one son Roger (Laura) Perkins, a daughter Eileen Turner, granddaughter Anna (Donn) Fraser, one niece Jo Keim (Jeff) Swanson of Bassett Nebraska and  cousin Colleen Mockler of Helena, Montana.

Services will held Monday, December 4, 2023 at 1pm at Rosenau Funeral Home in Twin Falls, ID.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Hansen Library, PO Box 150 Hansen, ID 83334.

At Mary’s request, there will be no viewing.
