Martha Lawson, age 82, loving mother, and adoring wife passed away peacefully in the early hours of March 24, 2025 with her family by her side. Martha fought a courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia and is now perfect in heaven. Martha was born October 10, 1942 to Earl and Severe Bandy. Martha grew up with her 8 sisters and one brother. Martha married the love of her life Don Lawson on December 21, 1963 and started her family. Martha loved being a wife and mom. As a military wife Martha was willing to move at moment’s notice. She was proud of this life and her accomplishments. She was very patriotic and wanted her children to understand our freedom was not free and not to be taken for granted. As a mother she was kind and generous. She wanted her children to have everything she didn’t have. When she became a grandma, she was so thrilled and proud. She loved spending time and making memories with her granddaughter Jessica. She was so proud to be a Great Grandma as well. Martha had a passion for cooking and combined that passion with her love of kids. Martha worked for the Minidoka County School District, as the Head Cook for Rupert Elementary School. She loved this job and so loved all of the students. She would share her fondest memories as a school cook. When she went to retire, she received letters from the fourth graders asking her to stay just one more year. She treasured these letters and kept them for many years. Martha is survived by her daughter Tina and Darwin Myers, Granddaughter, Jessica and Jerimiah Mortensen, 6 Great Grandchildren, Sister Betty and Paul Stewart, Linda and Pat Williams, Shirley Ward, Sister-in-law Cathy and Leonard Ingalls and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband Don Lawson, son Frank Lawon, father and mother Earl and Severe Bandy, Father and Mother In-law James and Retha Lawson.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Canyons Retirement Home for taking such amazing care of our mom and grandma. A Bridge Home for providing Hospice Care and Dr. Muretisch her family doctor. We could not have made it through this devasting time in our life without each of you.
