Marjorie Jean Harris

July 20, 1932 — January 16, 2016

Marjorie Jean Harris July 20, 1932 January 16, 2016 Marjorie Jean Harris passed away January 16, 2016 at Bridgeview care center in Twin Falls. Our Mom is now free from all her pain and suffering. Marjorie Jean Harris, born July 20 1932 in Filer Idaho to Gerald and Lottie Tracy. She was raised and educated in Wendell Idaho. Marjorie grew up in Wendell where she met the love of her life Stanley Harris, they married on August 10,1951, on August 10,1999 they were sealed in the Boise Temple. They resided in Wendell until 1960 when they moved their family to Twin Falls. They bought their first home in Twin where they lived for 52 years. They raised their three children in this home. When Marjorie could no longer take care of the home on her own she moved to Brookdale Assisted living where she lived for two years. Marjorie was known for her ability to sew anything. She made all her children’s clothes and did sewing for people inside her home until she was hired as a taylor for Ropers clothing store. She worked at Ropers from 1965 to 2000, in 2000 when Ropers closed she along with all her fellow coworkers/friends moved to DeMarcos at the Magic Valley mall. In 2005 Marjorie retired. As many know, at the age of 40 she came down with Rheumatiod Arthritis. There were days she could hardly get out of bed but she did and she worked through her pain. This debilitating disease left her fingers so gnarled it was a wonder she could sew. She took pride in her work, there was nothing that left the store that wasn’t fitted and fixed perfectly. Marjorie and Stanley loved their home and their yard. They together worked endlessly to make it the prettiest house on the block and were very proud of it. After Stanley died she took care of her yard herself, she loved her flowers, she spent endless hours making sure everything looked perfect. She learned to play the piano as a child and continued to play until her fingers could no longer make the notes. Later in life she and Stanley found interest in organs, they purchased their first organ and joined a class at Jorgensens Music. They met many wonderful friend there. She would use one finger to play the organ, everyone was amazed how fast she could make that finger go across those keys and how wonderful she could play. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Stanley Harris and brother Wesley Tracy. She is survived by; son, Dennis (Dianne) Harris, daughter, Debra (Dwayne) Tucker, daughter, Nancy Eldredge (Skip Huett) all of Twin Falls. Grandchildren, Mindy (Curt) Frodin, TJ (Emily) Eldredge.
