Sometimes life blesses us with a person that brings great passion, deep love and an infectious energy that commands the room every time they enter. That was Marcie Richter-Martin. A big smile, a strong hug and a genuinely happy heart to see you. On Friday, July 2nd, 2021, she passed out of this life here to be re-united with loved ones in God’s care.
If you knew Marcie, you knew she was passionate about food, friends and her son, Casey. As a child, Marcie loved to cook and easily whipped up excellent meals and treats. Even a tuna casserole, accidentally made with canned tomato soup at age 12, managed to feed the family who lovingly ate it regardless. As an adult, she was the queen of fabulous appetizers at every holiday gathering. Truly delicious and made with love.
Growing up in the small town of Murtaugh, Idaho allowed her to participate in a variety of activities: sports, student leadership and various school clubs. The bond with her classmates was strong and continues to be even now. Marcie has always been surrounded by a tribe of friends, who now miss her presence profoundly. She was a very outgoing, social soul with a heart of gold, offering help and support to anyone in need.
Marcie spent most of her career in the restaurant world where her customers absolutely loved her. She was designed with a servant heart, so providing a great dining experience for customers came shining through with each encounter. She never met a stranger—and had a talent for remembering names easily.
Marcie was born on October 11, 1975 to Doug Richter and Karen Brown Richter of Twin Falls. Her pride and joy was her son, Casey, who sadly passed in August of 2018. She was also preceded in death by her father, Doug; uncle, Kerry Brown, and her grandparents.
She is survived by her mother, Karen Brown; grandmother, Yvonne Brown; siblings Doug Richter (and Emily Thomas); Kelsey Schulz (and Jeff Schulz); and their families; step-sisters, Susan Webster Norton and Sara Webster Holleman; her aunts, Dianne Fitzgerald and Deanna Brown; and her love, Steven Stephens.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, July 9 at 2pm at Rosenau Funeral Home of Twin Falls, Idaho. Streaming services will be available.
