Lucille Hoskin went to her final rest on Friday, December 22, 2024, on the eve of her 95th birthday. She passed peacefully in her sleep at Chardonnay Assisted Living, where she had been a resident since moving there in 2016 with her husband, Howard.
Lucille was born on December 23, 1928, in Ashton, Idaho. She was the 6th child of Mr. & Mrs. O. C. Stansell. She spent her earliest years on her family’s seed potato farm, learning to toddle about behind the busy family. Later, the Stansell family moved to the Twin Falls area, where her father would continue farming.
She began to attend Bethel Temple Church with her mother at the age of 4. Just 2 years later, she received the new birth experience on a Saturday afternoon while attending a Children’s church service. She remained a faithful member for the rest of her life.
Lucille graduated from Twin Falls High School and worked in various places in the Twin Falls community. Her final place of employment was Roper’s in Twin Falls, where she was part of the alteration department. She would continue providing alteration services to friends and family long after her retirement.
She married Howard C. Hoskin on February 3, 1955, and to this union, they welcomed two sons, Rodney Clair and Kevin Duane, and one daughter, Lona Rae.
Preceded in death by her parents, Orville Charles Stansell, Bernice Eleanor Stansell, all her siblings, Earl and his wife Velma, Una Foulk and her husband Ed, Robert “Bob” and his wife Goldie, Don and his wife Virginia, youngest brother David, and her sister Berniece. Also by her husband, Howard, and her son Kevin, seven nieces and nephews and one granddaughter.
She is survived by her son Rodney Hoskin of Twin Falls, Idaho, daughter Lona (Jon) Nelson of Gardner, Kansas, and extended family, John (Leena) Huber of Twin Falls, Idaho. Also, one sister-in-law Norma Alldritt of Kimberly, Idaho
Grandchildren Jill Wyman, Julie Isaacson, Amanda Weeks, LaRissa Westmoreland, Spencer Nelson, Sam Huber, Melissa Baeza, ten great-grandchildren, eight nieces and nephews, and their extended families.
Viewing and Services will be held at Bethel Temple Church on Thursday, January 4, 2024.
Viewing 9 am to 10:45 am, Service at 11:00 am with a Graveside service to follow at Sunset Memorial.
