Linda (Lynn) Kay Martens Yankey passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, June 16, 2017.
Lynn was born to Jim and Maurine Hopkins on June 16, 1950 in Twin Falls, Idaho, and spent most all her life in the Magic Valley area. She married Brent Martens in 1970 and together they raised two sons, Jared and Dane in Buhl, Idaho before Brent passed away in 1986.
She married Rich Yankey in 1990 and together they enjoyed many years of outdoor adventures and traveling the country. They were both very active at their church, Peace Lutheran in Filer, where she enjoyed attending and leading Bible study regularly. Lynn was incredibly proud of her two sons and two stepchildren and the accomplishments each had made with their life.
Lynn truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; visiting with friends, crafting and decorating, and spending time with her large extended family. She was incredibly close to her mother, who passed in January, and her two sisters. Lynn had a great ability to reach people in a meaningful way through her strong and unwavering faith in God and the church.
Lynn was predeceased by her husband, Brent Martens, and parents Jim and Maurine. She is survived by her husband Rich Yankey of Twin Falls, sons Jared Martens (Lisa) of Star, Idaho, Justin Yankey (Rhia) of Meridian, Idaho, Dane Martens of Pasadena, California, and daughter Lyndi Yankey of Los Angeles, California, two grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sisters Jan Benton (Larry) of Meridian, Idaho and Becky Thompson (Scott) of Boise, Idaho
The family suggests memorials be given to Peace Lutheran Church Open Arms Ministries, PO Box 33, Filer, Idaho 83328 or may be left with funeral staff.
