Lind E. Ruhter was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on May 10, 1950. The angels from heaven came to escort her home on March 15, 2017. She was raised in Connecticut with a strong Irish Catholic background, attending church every Sunday with her father James Dempsey and her mother Joan, whom wanted the world for her. Her family decided to relocate west to California in her early adult years. Linda had two beautiful daughters, Crystal and Candi early in life. In California Linda meet Russell Nice who brought her here in marriage. Linda immediately fell in love with Idaho's mountains and lakes. With an adventurous outdoor heart she learned to camp, waterski and fish. She had a special bond with all animals; epically dogs. She worked with a veterinarian being a kennel assistant. Linda was gentle, compassionate and bright. Her outgoing personality shined through in all she did. Linda worked at Idaho Frozen Foods for 20 years as a laboratory technician. She took great pride in her work and became a speak-up representative for employees with grievances of injustice while at work and fought for their rights. Linda's natural ability to understand and interpret the laws was phenomenal. While working at Idaho Frozen Foods Linda fell in love with Rande Ruhter and married, whom she shared 33 years of her life with. Sharing their love for dogs they breed AKC Labrador retrievers and adored every one of them. Linda's caring devotion and persistent love to her daughters and family was unwavering. When her grandson Justin was born she beamed with pride, joy and love. She loved him with all her heart. She was an amazing grandmother. I would like to take a moment to thank my mom for all that she did for us, to thank God for allowing us to be a part of her life. She was remarkable and her guidance was comforting. We are so honored to call her mom and grandma. I love you mom. There is no doubt in my heart that when you arrived in heaven, God smiled down on you and said, "Welcome home Linda, we too have missed you. Well done." She is survived by her husband Rande Ruhter; daughters Candi Sego and Crystal Mattson; grandson Justin Mattson; two sisters Donna Hughes and Cheryl Gough; nephew John Hughes and nieces Jamie Ramos and Jessie Berg.
