LeRoy Herbert Silver, 77, of Hagerman, Idaho on June 16, 2016 is finally at rest after a very busy and full life. He was born to Herbert and Frances Silver in Sacramento, California on August 30, 1938. He leaves behind his wife, Josie Marie, of almost 48 years, daughter, Frances Silver, granddaughter, Nicole Silver and many friends he has met during his lifetime. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Robert Silver.
He worked for a public school district as a janitor and the in the district warehouse. Following that he spent a number of years running equipment at a food processing plant. Later he and his family purchased a small piece of property in the California central valley to farrow and raise hogs. This business grew into one of the largest state licensed hog slaughtering businesses in California. In 1996 he thought he would retire but quickly grew bored and purchased 365 acres in Northern California’s beautiful Sierra Valley where, with his best friend he worked in the pine trees and pasture lands of this property he loved. He also was very supportive and helpful with his wife’s endeavors in church and many local organizations especially the local Rotary club.
LeRoy enjoyed hunting, hard work and helping anyone that he met. He also made kidding around with others a large part of his life. Please make contributions of your time to further a worthy cause of your choice in his memory.
A mass to celebrate LeRoy’s life will be held at St. Catherine Catholic Church 446 N State St. (Hwy 30) in Hagerman on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 11 am. Arrangements are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home.
