Kathleen Flameling, age 74, passed away peacefully, February 15, 2024 with frontal temporal lobe dementia. She was born on June 12, 1949 to Henry and Mary Willemstein in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her family later moved to southern California, where she later met and married the love of her life and soulmate, Bert Flameling on August 17, 1973. They lived in Ontario, California and together had two children, Michael and Ellen Flameling. In 1981, they moved to Hinkley, California, where they built a dairy with Bert's two brothers, George and Dick, from the ground up and lived for the next 12 years until they moved and settled in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Kathy worked different positions throughout her life as a medical secretary. Her last job at St. Lukes Elks Rehabilitation was where she retired. Above all, though, she was a dedicated wife, Mom, grandma, sister, Aunt, and Friend. She cherished her grandchildren and loved every moment with them. She had a vivacious, personality and an amazing contagious laugh.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband Bert Flameling, her children, Michael Flameling, Ellen Ruhter (Ken Hurd), grandchildren Teague Ruhter, Madelynn Ruhter, Emily Ruhter and Michael Ruhter. She is also survived by sister and husband, Karen and Marv Pemberton, Sue, and Gary Hulbert, Mary and Steve, Dutton, and Patty Sprague, and brother and wife, Richard and Pat Willemstein along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Kathy loved to read and always had a book in her hand or purse. She spent numerous hours volunteering at the Twin Falls reformed church library and the Mustardseed thrift store book department. In Lou of flowers, please donate to the mustard seed thrift store, Twin Falls, Idaho.
