Juanita Jimenez, 65, left this earth to be with our heavenly father on Saturday, February 1, 2014. Juanita fought hard this past year, but eventually lost her battle with cancer. She was surrounded by many loved ones at the time of her passing. Juanita was born on August 16, 1948 in Nuevo Laredo Tamaulipas., Mexico to Domingo and Elisa Jimenez Sr. She was the eldest of seven children. Juanita was a loving, caring woman who had a very strong work ethic. Juanita’s daughter Rosa Rojas and her two grandchildren Alyssa (Mireya) and Ernesto (Neto) were her pride and joy. She was a very simple woman who valued family more than anything else in this world. Juanita worked very hard her entire life and worked the last 15 years at Independent Meat. She was preceded in death by her loving father, Domingo Jimenez Sr., 81 and her sister, Maria Guadalupe Jimenez, 9. She is survived by her daughter and best friend, Rosa Rojas (Gabriel), her loving grandchildren Alyssa (Mireya) Rojas and Ernesto (Neto) Rojas, her mother, Elisa Jimenez, her siblings Domingo Jimenez Jr. (Esther), Leticia Arroyo, Juan Jimenez (Lupe), Jose Jimenez (Dana), Diana Rebollozo (John) and numerous nieces and nephews. On behalf of Juanita’s family, we would like to extend our gratitude to the staff at the St. Luke’s MSTI Center, the doctors and nurses at St. Luke’s Medical Center, and her friends and co-workers at Independent Meat. Juanita’s family will miss her very much, but we are comforted in knowing that she walked through the gates of heaven hand-in-hand with her father and her little sister. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, February 6 at Rosenau Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
