Jon Douglas Brown of Twin Falls, 75, passed away March 4, 2024 at St. Luke's hospital after a long battle with cancer.
Doug was born in Twin Falls, Idaho April 19, 1948 to Roger and Vi Brown of Wendell, Idaho. After graduating from Wendell High School, Doug immediately enlisted in the United States Army and did a tour in Vietnam. After returning from military service, he lived in Champaign, Illinois for several years before returning to his family in Idaho. In 1986 he married the love of his life, Debra Fisher (Hunter) and they were married 37 years.
Doug spent many years working in automobiles sales then later sold manufactured homes for Nashua Homes before retiring.
After recuperating from his first heart attack, he and Debi got involved with Paws Rescue Inc. and they fostered many lucky puppies until forever homes were found for them. He had found a new passion.
Doug was an avid supporter of Paws Rescue Inc starting out fostering two one day old puppies that he and Debi hand raised until adoption 4 months later. Within 2 ½ years they fostered 14 different dogs in their home, 2 of which they adopted and are still with Debi today. Doug also did a lot of the local home inspections for potential pet adopters, helped transport pups from one location to another, helped out with local adoption events and fund raising. He loved all the dogs being able to help them find new and better lives.
Doug also loved his family deeply and rarely missed a family event. He went to as many family events as he could from holiday gatherings to birthday parties, weddings and summer barbecues. With such a large family there was always something to look forward to.
Doug is preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Vi Brown, his brother Barry Brown, his sister Pat Smith and niece Wendy Nielsen.
Doug leaves behind his wife Debi, daughter LaShaun Cook (Chris), step son John Fisher (Anna), sister Cindy Tortel (Errow), 3 grandson Dreydon, Jon Jon and James and many nieces and nephews and their children.
