John Henry Nelson

John Henry Nelson, 83 of Twin Falls, ID passed away Saturday evening, March 23, 2013 at Bridgeview Estates. John was born on October 24, 1929 to Helen C. (Stiles) and Henry Andrew Nelson in Onamia, Minnesota, where he was raised and educated. In 1950 he enlisted in the United States Air Force. His tours of duty took him to Texas, Florida, Germany, England, California, France, Korea, and to Idaho. While stationed in Twin Falls he was an advisor to the Civil Air Patrol. It was while he was in England that he met his future wife, Rosemary Wilson. They were married on June 12, 1954. John is survived by his wife, Rosemary; daughter Sue Loosli and her husband Duane Loosli; grandsons Brian Loosli (Amanda), Kevin Loosli (Tiffany) and Brent Loosli (Marissa) and by his brother Elmer R. Nelson of Lebanon, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Helen Nelson and his son Gary Lee Nelson. In 1977, John retired from the Air Force. He and his wife went back to Missouri to care for his parents. In 1983, John and Rosemary returned to Twin Falls to be near their daughter and grandsons. They took a number of trips back to England to visit family and friends. They enjoyed many trips to San Diego to visit their son until his death. John and Rosemary were members of the Twin Falls Bluebirds Good Sam Club and enjoyed many trips and good fellowship. After retirement, John couldn’t sit still and not do anything, so he worked for World Book Encyclopedias as a District Manager for about eight years. After that he worked for Blacker’s Appliance for approximately another eight years. John was a wonderful caring husband, father and grandfather. He loved the Lord & Savior Jesus Christ and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. A memorial service will be held at Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave E at 3pm on Saturday March 30, 2013 with Pastor Dave Mowry officiating.
