John Paul Hogue of Twin Falls, passed away peacefully at his home on Sept 21st 2016, while surrounded by his loved ones. He was 60 years old.
John was born in Spokane WA on September 11th 1956 to Helen and Ralph Hogue. He was the youngest of 5 children. Growing up he spent several years of his childhood in Virginia where he found a love of the outdoors while playing in the Blue Ridge Mountains with his siblings and friends.
After graduating, John moved to California and started his family. He later joined the United States Air Force where he worked as a weapons mechanic in the 19th Munitions Maintenance Squad for nearly 2 years before being honorably discharged. John spent the next 20 years living in southern CA where he worked hard as a machine maintenance mechanic and helped build a life for his family.
John moved to Twin Falls, Idaho with his family in 1996 where he worked for Con-Agra Foods and later Amalgamated Sugar. He soon rekindled his love for outdoor activities. John enjoyed fishing and camping with friends and family, hunting, and long road trips with his many friends from around the community and the Snake River Bros on his beloved Harley Davidson.
John is preceded in death by his mother Helen, father Ralph, and sister Dorothy. John is survived by his daughters, Emily (Theron) Thomas and granddaughter Ava Otero of Twin Falls, Betsy (Jonathan) Benton of Boise, sisters Jeri Haklik (CA), Carolyn McBride (FL), and brother Don Hogue (AZ), along with many nieces, nephews, and countless friends he considered family.
John was a hardworking, generous man with a big heart, an unforgettable sense of humor, and a laugh that was contagious. He was passionate about helping those around him, and had a huge love for the families of Camp Rainbow Gold.
