James M. "Jim" Requa 88, passed away on Saturday April 29, 2017 at his home after a long battle with cancer. Jim was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on August 18, 1928 to Dillard and Ruth Requa. The oldest of four boys, Jim graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1946. Jim attended U of I returning home in 1949 to take over the family farm until 1951 when he was drafted into the Air Force until 1955. He then returned to the farm until retiring in 2010. Jim and his brother Rod raised research beans and bought misfit cattle and raised them to choice quality beef. Requa beef became well known in the Magic Valley with peple calling and requesting it for butcher. Jim loved his children dearly, talking to them every night on the phone and checking if there was anything new going on. Jim is survived by daughters Cindy (Frank) Kelley, Susan Talamantes and Sharri (Dan) Norman; son Brad (Cindy) Requa; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; brother John (Helen) Requa; sisters in-law Rose Requa and Joyce Requa. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, wife and two brothers Charles and Rodney. A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 6, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Eastside Baptist Church, 204 Eastland Dr. N, Twin Falls. The family would like to thank Hospice Visions for the love and dedication they gave to Jim.
