Born September 14, 1939 in Tremonton, Utah; died peacefully at home February 20, 2022 in Filer, Idaho at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his father Sherman, mother Lenna, younger brother Joe and daughter Amy.Jack was raised in East Garland, Utah by his parents, Sherman Lawrence Oyler and Lenna Marie Shaffer. He was the first born of the children who include Dick (Rita) Oyler, Nan (JD) Hawks, Ted (Diana) Oyler, Jane (Ray) Nielsen and Joe (Bobby) Oyler. Jack attended East Garland Elementary and the Bear River High School. He worked as a police officer for several years in Tremonton to help pay his way through school at Utah State University, where he studied criminology. During college he met DeeAnn Nebeker who immediately fell in love with such a handsome man in uniform. They dated for 3 years then married and began their life together with 4 instant children; Lisa, Alan, Daran and Amy. A few years later they had a son together, and thus Marty joined the crowd. Jack went back to studying and became an insurance adjuster for State Farm. He later ventured out on his own where he made a comfortable life for himself and his family. After 54 years of marriage, Jack and DeeAnn had welcomed 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way. Jack was so much more than a great provider. He loved yardwork and kept his yard pristine. He was involved in scouts and many other church callings. He worked with AYSO to further the sport of soccer here in the western United States. He loved to fish, hunt and camp. He devoted countless hours to SFW and worked with many politicians on projects to preserve and further outdoor issues here in Idaho. Jack will forever be known for his love and devotion to family, friends and the great outdoors. Funeral services will be held on Monday February 28, 2022 at 11:00am at the Filer LDS Church, 840 W Midway St. Filer, Idaho. A viewing will be held 1 hour prior to the service and also from 5-7pm on Sunday February 27, 2022 at Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave E. Twin Falls. Immediately following the service a luncheon will be provided at the church for family and friends. There will be no graveside services at this time. Jack is survived by his wife DeeAnn, sons Marty (Tricia) Oyler, Alan (Kelly) Reeves, Davan Reeves and daughter Lisa Reeves. The family would like to thank St. Luke’s Twin Falls and Boise, EIRMAC in Idaho Falls and Innovative Imaging in Twin Falls and Horizon Health Care for all their time and effort making dads last 2 months of his life the best they could be.
