Irene G. Yingst-McRoberts

Irene G. McRoberts, 94, passed to her new home on August 2, 2012.Irene was born in Huntsville, Arkansas March 10, 1918, the only daughter of Logan and Flora Walden Yingst. Irene spent her early years in Huntsville, moving to Ida ho in the 1940's. She spoke fondly of her young life spent chasing after her two older brothers, then playing the role of the big sister when her younger brother was born. Irene married Earl Raymond McRoberts on November 2, 1944 in Buhl. Irene waited patiently for her soldier to return after World War II. They purchased a farm south of Buhl and loved the country life. To this union, there were two daughters, Linda and Kim. In 1961 , they built a home in town, where they enjoyed countless hours of working in their beautiful lawn and garden. Good times were spent camping, enjoying the summers with homemade ice cream and just talking while sitting at the table with a good cup of coffee. Irene was a hard worker. She was Earl’s best hired hand on the farm. Irene painted the walls of many homes in the Buhl area and just once, tackled a barn i n the Clover area, making her own scaffolding. She spent many hours waiting for Lyle and Gary to sell an antique anything at the auctions. Irene's love of oak furniture, beautiful depression glass and granite coffee pots became her hobby, along with her doll collection that lived i n the basement of their home. She could take an item that was ordinary and make it a treasure. I rene was preceded in death by her husband, Earl in 1996, her parents, and brothers Freeman, Olnia and Clarence Yingst. Irene is survived by her daughters Linda (Gary) Hawkins of Twin Falls, and Kim (Sid) Wing of Mountain Home, Grandchildren Michele (Kevin) Sandau, Michael Hawkins of Twin Falls, and Tanner (Melinda) Wing of Mountain Home; Great-grandchildren Carson and Kennedy Sandau, Sienna, Landon and Peytan Wing; several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends Ruby Lierman, and Ruth Clark. The only request from Irene was to go home. Thanks to the com passionate ladies from the Cottages of Mtn. Home for the last part of her journey. Your kindness and smiles will never be forgotten. Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 7, 201 2 at the West End Cemetery in Buhl at 11:00AM. The family extends an invitation to join them at Rosenau's Funeral Home after the graveside service for a celebrat ion of l ife luncheon. A verse from Irene’s favorite hymn....."Ready to go, ready to stay, Ready my place to fill; Ready for service, lowly or great, Ready to do His will."
