Harold P. Huyser went to be with his Lord and Savior July 17, 2016. The final hours was spent with his family remembering the wonderful and meaningful experiences. Harold was born on August 5, 1924 to Pete William and Mary Louise Huyser. Harold was the fourth of seven children. He had four sisters, Rosmary, Ada, and twins Marian and Margery. He also had two brothers Robert and Donald. Harold’s family lived near Bellevue, Idaho during the early part of Harold’s life. Harold used a horse and buggy or a sleigh in the winter to take his siblings on the four mile ride to and from school. He helped his father haul food and other supplies by wagon from Bellevue to the large sheep camps above the Little Wood Reservoir. In 1937 the Huysers moved to the Gooding/Bliss area of southern Idaho. Harold grew up on a farm using horses, plowing with a one bottom plow and harvesting hay using a buckrake and derrick. Harold graduated from Bliss High School in 1942. He served two years in the Army during World War II. During the war he served in the Pacific Theater. Harold returned home following his service in the military and returned to help his parents, farm in the Bliss area. In 1950 Harold met and fell in love with Audrey Low (daughter of Clarence and Elva Low) from Gooding. They were married November 17, 1950. They then moved to Shoshone, Idaho. Harold and Audrey were blessed with four sons, Marvin, Melvin, Norman and Alton. Harold enjoyed working with his family on their farm raising crops as well as well as operating a dairy and a feedlot for over 50 years. What Harold enjoyed the most was buying and selling cattle. He went to many weekly livestock auctions and kept busy buying cattle for himself and others. Harold accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at a young age. He was an active member of the Shoshone Assembly of God Church for over 60 years. Harold also attended the Oasis Church in Shoshone, Idaho and the Magic Valley Worship Center in Twin Falls, Idaho. Harold was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brothers and sisters.
