Harlan E. Mink

January 8, 1956 — November 10, 2011

Harlan Eugene Mink Jr., 55, of Three Creek, Idaho, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2011 after a brief illness. Harlan was born on January 8, 1956 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Harlan and Elsie Mink. Harlan was raised and educated in Twin Falls, Idaho. Shortly following his graduation from Twin Falls High School, his first employment was driving truck for Nelson’s Inc. He then moved to Rogerson, Idaho where he found work as a ranch hand for Bruce Kunkel and then for Swan Land and Livestock on the House Creek Ranch (later owned by Aslett Ranch). After 20 plus years of ranch work, Harlan began work as Road Foreman for the Three Creek Highway District. During the course of this time he also became involved as a School Board member for the Three Creek School District. During his years in the Rogerson area, Harlan gained a legion of friends and peers. He had a no nonsense outlook on life, but was a wonderfully caring person who was deeply devoted to and would always go out of his way to help family, friends, and his community. He was preceded in death by his father Harlan Sr, and sister Nola. Harlan Jr. is survived by his immediate family, mother Elsie of Twin Falls, two brothers, Wayne (with wife Zouri and children Zauhna, Brandon, Zachary, Ethan, and Julia) of Albany, Oregon; and Olin ( with wife Jana and children Tyler and BreAnn) of Buhl, Idaho. In lieu of sending flowers, appreciate the fact that you have roads to drive on and close the stinking gate next time you drive through a ranch. Cremation is under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 17th, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave E., Twin Falls, Idaho. Family and friends are encouraged to share their memories at www.rosenaufuneralhome.com
