Gwendolyn Teramoto

April 25, 1949 — March 3, 2016

Gwendolyn B. Teramoto passed away on Thursday March 3, 2016. Gwen was born on April 25, 1949 in Delano, California to J.R. and Wonema Belflower and was named after the maternity ward nurse. She grew up in the California San Joaquin Valley as the second of eleven children. She moved to the Bay Area to attend what later became San Jose State University. Gwen studied history and theater. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and promptly joined the Master’s program. While attending the University she met and married S. Bob Teramoto. They had one child Elizabeth, and later divorced. With a sense of adventure, Gwen and her daughter moved to Twin Falls, Idaho in 1979. She was involved with Camp Fire Boys and Girls where in addition to being a troop leader she also ran several day and sleep away camps for the council. During this time she worked for the Twin Falls School District as a teacher and in the Magic Valley Hospital System, but eventually found her niche in customer service. Gwen joined the Costco team in 1993 when a new store opened in Twin Falls and spent the next 23 years as an integral part of the warehouse. Along the way she touched the lives of not only her co-workers but also her customers. Alternately known as Grammie Gwen or Aunt Gwen, she supported Relay for Life, Tough Enough to Wear Pink and was always the first to stand in support of US Military personnel. Gwen was a force of nature with a will of iron and a heart of gold. She never let those in need go without and was always willing to lend a hand or shoulder to lean on. She was loved by so many and will be missed. Gwen truly made the world a better place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday March 9, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Rosenau Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home.
