Gregory Dowl Wells departed this life on January 15th 2018, on Twin Falls, Idaho at the age of 63. He was born in Big Spring, Texas on May 7, 1954. He was the third child born to Betty and Clarence Henry Wells Sr. His education began in Guam while his father was on a military tour. The family came back to the states in 1964. His elementary education was at Beaver Heights Elementary School in Capitol Heights, MD in 1972. Greg attended the University of Maryland on the Eastern Shore for the next four years. While attending college, he joined the Air Force ROTC. He also met Gloria Foreman and they were blessed with a daughter Marie. He had a twenty year career as a Correctional Officer at Lorton Correctional complex in Virginia until he decided to move out west. In 2007 he met Lori Cheney. They had a loving relationship and cared for each other dearly. She was his rock. He often bragged about Lori and wanted her to know his family and they cared for her. Greg was a Free Mason and advanced to become a Shriner in 2016. He enjoyed the brotherhood, fun and fellowship. He was truly proud of the community service to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Greg maintained his relationships many through telephone, skype and social media. He was a super guy that loved to joke, give advice and mentor his nieces, nephews and friends. He was fondly called "Uncle Gregory" and had a no nonsense attitude when it came to doing the right thing. He loved talking, cooking and politics. He will be truly missed. The family is saddened and will miss his weekly calls and contacts. He always ended the call with "I love you". He is survived by his parents, Clarence and Betty Wells, daughter Marie (Greg), 3 grandsons (Garrison, Gabriel and Gavin), Siblings Damita (Elmer) Goldsmith, Clarence Wells Jr., Tonami Briley (Jim) and Michael Wells, 5 nephews, 2 nieces, his companion Lori and his faithful Boo Boo Rosie. A celebration of his life will be held in Twin Falls, Idaho and in Orlando, Florida.
