Gladys Louise Sommer Allen was born May 6, 1915, to Louise and John Sommer in Filer, Idaho. Gladys Louise was the first of five children. She lived on the farm until graduating from Twin Fall High School in 1933. Gladys Louise then moved to Long Beach, California, where she met and married John Allen. They raised 3 children. Gladys Louise worked as a supervisor for the Board of Education in Los Angeles until retirement. She and Johnny traveled throughout the United States in their Airstream trailer. In 1979, they moved to Everett, Washington. In 1990, while on a trip to Twin Falls, Idaho, for Gladys Louise's high school reunion, Johnny died. They had been married 54 years. On February 20, Gladys Louise died peacefully at home, and went to be with her Lord Jesus, who she loved faithfully all her life.

She is preceded in death by Husband John Alfred Allen, son John Alfred Allen II, brothers Elmer Sommer and Bill Sommer, granddaughter Kathleen Burke and great great grandchildren infant twins Robert and John. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday March 3, 2018 from 9:30 am – 11:00 am with funeral services following the viewing at 11 am at Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave E. Twin Falls. A graveside service will be held on Monday March 5, 2018 at 11:00 am at Sunset Memorial Park, Twin Falls.
