Gerald Byron Cummings Sr.

November 14, 1938 — August 27, 2024

Twin Falls, Idaho

Jerry had a voracious appetite for Bingo. He was known to have scared many hapless unsuspecting victims out of their chairs with his shouts of "Bingo". Many have tried but few have succeeded in copying this now famous shout.

Jerry always had a jigsaw puzzle out on the table to work on. He would word on 1000 piece puzzles for a while and then take out a 750 or 500 piece for a rest.

He loved most sports and could always be found, when not puzzling, watching some game on TV. He loved the Dallas Cowboys the best but basketball and soccer were close behind.

Jerry was probably the best backseat navigator ever. Even under the threat of having duct tape across his mouth, he couldn't resist adding one more comment anyway.

Gerald (Jerry) Byron Cummings was born November 14th, 1938. He grew up around Comfort, West Virginia and graduated from Sherman High School.

After high school Jerry joined the Air Force and spent most of his time teaching bomb procedures in Texas.

Jerry married Sharon in 1963 and spent the next 54 years navigating life with her. Sharon passed away in 2017. They had one child, Gerald Byron Junior (deceased) and in 1983 adopted Don and Jenny to make the family complete.

Jerry attended Criswell College in Dallas, Texas and upon graduation, began his new adventure as a Pastor for the 1st Southern Baptist church. He ended up in Shoshone and Twin Falls, ID.

Jerry worked for Middlekauf Ford as a sales associate beginning in 1997. He then worked for Rob Green as a Finance manager in 2004.

Jerry lived to help others and always said, "If I have money and someone needs it, I will give it to them. That's how I am".

Jerry passed away August 27th, 2024 at St. Lukes Magic Valley medical Center. He is survived by his son Don (Kimmie), daughter Jenny and brother Larry in Las Vegas, NV.
