Gem Gordon Dahlen

October 29, 1931 — December 12, 2016

Gem Marler Gordon Nuffer Dahlen passed away peacefully in her home in Twin Falls, Idaho, on December 12, 2016. She was born October 29, 1931 to Douglas Edgar Gordon and Bessie Lucetta Marler in her grandparent's home in Kevin, Montana. She lived in various places as a child as her father pursued employment, spending years in Montana and Idaho. Her love and affinity for Montana and the Big Sky Country never left her, and was a significant part of her life. She married Jack Nuffer, and had three sons: Douglas Karl, Robert Jack (Rob), and Blake Gordon. They lived in Soda Springs for a number of years, where Gem ranched in beautiful Nounan Valley. Later in her life, she married Carl Dahlen of Cutbank, Montana, which made it possible for the Montana girl to return home, with a view from the ranch house of her beloved Sweetgrass Hills. After Carl's passing, Gem lived in St. George, Utah, and then Twin Falls, Idaho. Gem was a lover and supporter of the arts, collecting and encouraging many artists while living in Montana. She was interested in people and relationships, which she fostered throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Doug, her parents, and her husbands. She is survived by her son, Rob (Delia) Nuffer of Winnemucca, NV, and Blake (Sandy) Nuffer, of Eden, ID. She has seven grandchildren Lacey (Hank) Higley, Meggie (Rett) Cameron, Cooper (Laurie) Nuffer, Jared (Addie) Nuffer, Brandon (Katie) Nuffer, Deana Wagner and Trina Wagner; and 10 great-grandchildren. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday December 17, 2016 at 10 am at the Hankins Rd. LDS Chapel with services to follow at 11 am. Interment will take place on Monday December 19, 2016 at the Sweetgrass Hill Cemetery in Sunburst, Montana. Arrangements are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home.
