Gayle Marie Kaserman of Eden, Idaho, age 81, passed away on October 5th, 2023 at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Hospital.

Gayle was born July 23, 1942 in Pocatello, Idaho, to Marvin James Aslett and Marie Elizabeth Freidinger Aslett. Gayle was the third born of four children. Her siblings include James (Jim) Leroy, Kathryn (Kaye) Ellen, and Irene (Rene) Elizabeth.

Gayle graduated from South Fremont High School in St. Anthony, Idaho, in 1960. After high school, she attended Cosmetology school in Pocatello, Idaho. She received her cosmetology license in 1962.

While going to Cosmetology school in Pocatello, she was set up on a blind date which later became the love of her life, Douglas Duane Kaserman. They were married on December 30, 1962. It was in Pocatello that they would meet one of their lifelong friends Les and Leslie Hunter.

Shortly after getting married, they moved to Twin Falls, ID, to begin their lives as a married couple. In 1963, John Douglas, their son, joined the family. A couple of months later they moved to Pocatello so Doug could finish his education as an aircraft mechanic. After receiving his license, they moved to Las Vegas, NV. In 1966 their daughter Angela Marie was born. This would complete their family.

They then moved to the Ogden, UT, area and lived there for several years as Doug worked at Hill Air Force Base. It was while they lived in Roy, UT, they met Richard and Sally Locher. They would become another set of lifelong friends. The next move led the family to Hazelton, ID and Eden, ID, where Doug was able to take up his dream of farming. They lived here for the rest of their lives. They had been married for 61 years at the time of Gayle’s passing.

Some of Gayle’s hobbies were crafting, wood working, embroidering, knitting, and spending many hours landscaping her yard. She was very gifted and talented in all if her hobbies. Everyone that knew her would be gifted with one or many of her lovingly handmade items. She was also very fond of animals and especially small dogs.

Gayle was a “phone” person and was able to stay connected with not only family members but her dear friends Leslie and Sandy most days. She looked forward to and enjoyed those chats.

Gayle is survived by her husband Douglas. Two children, John Kaserman (Elizabeth Dodson), Angela (Randy) Grant; two granddaughters, Audra Kaserman (Mike Daniels), and Skylar (Bjorn) Kaserman-Bergmann, one great- granddaughter, Leirra Wilson. She is also survived by her sisters Kaye Middendorf and Rene Rigby. Sister-in-law Carolyn Aslett, Sister-in-law Evelyn (Jay) Jones and Brother-in-law Paul (Ann) Kaserman. And many much-loved nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents Marvin J. Aslett and Marie E. Aslett; her in-laws, Clyde and Doris Kaserman. Brother James Aslett, nephew Jason Arnhart, nephew Jeff Rigby and one great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Wilson.
