Gayle Marie Jacobsen (Hill), age 67, entered eternal rest on November 4, 2024, surrounded by her close loved ones. Born on September 13, 1957, in Twin Falls, Idaho, Gayle came into the world alongside her twin sister, Niki Hranac (Hill), as daughters to Connie and Robert Hill. Gayle was a gentle, generous soul with a deep love for Jesus, always willing to help others with whatever she had. Her heart resonated with Celtic Christian music, which she often said brought her closer to Jesus, and she played it repeatedly on her CD player. A true free spirit with a love for classic rock, she cherished music by artists like Bob Seger, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Billy Idol, and James Taylor. More recently, she’d sing along to Lewis Capaldi, filling the room with joy. These moments capture only a glimpse of the beautiful person Gayle was. Over her lifetime, Gayle worked a variety of jobs, from working in the fields with her family to dealing blackjack in Jackpot, NV, and finally, dedicating herself to home health care until her retirement. She gave her all in each role, grateful for the work that put food on her family’s table. Gayle’s love and selflessness shone brightly when she took on raising her eldest granddaughter after her own children were grown. Their bond was unbreakable, and they were best friends until Gayle’s final moments. She had a lot of memories with each and every person she loved, that’s just who she was.
Gayle was fiercely loyal to her loved ones, never hesitating to stand up for them. Whether during her high school years in Castleford, where she and her twin sister often defended each other, or throughout her life when family or friends needed support, she was a force to be reckoned with. Those who knew her will forever hold her memory close, and her absence will be deeply felt. She found joy in spontaneous, fun moments with her children and grandchildren, always making every second count. Known for her humor, she’d often lighten situations with her quick wit—like when she’d laugh and say, “I just know Paul will meet me at the pearly gates with a stogey in his mouth!” Her laughter and spirit brightened any room, and her presence made all worries melt away. Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Connie Hill; cousin, Myleea Robertson; and nephew, Matthew Palmer. She is survived by her children, Lisa Jacobsen and Jason (Shanna) Jacobsen; grandchildren, Ashley (Chris) Schaeffer, Emily Stafford, Jordan Jacobsen, and Mariah Jacobsen; great-grandchildren, Chase Schaeffer, Wyatt Schaeffer, Kingsley Heydt, and Heather Carpenter. She also leaves behind her aunt, Marleen (Bob) Hamilton and uncle Richard Hill(Ray Annis)(; twin sister, Niki Hranac; sister, Merrissa Engelhart; brother, Robert Jr. (Bonnie) Hill; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who cherished her dearly. Gayle will always be remembered for her radiant smile, contagious laugh, and the way she brought everyone together. A celebration of her life will be held on May 17 at 1 p.m. at Rosenau Funeral Home
