Fred C. Nelson, 82, of Twin Falls, passed away peacefully May 3, 2015 with his family by his side. He was born February 9, 1933 in Dothan, Alabama to Frederick Carl Nelson and Edna West Nelson. He graduated from Burley High School in 1951. Fred was a talented clarinet player and attended the University of Utah on a music scholarship. While he was at U of U, he enjoyed playing in the marching band and served in ROTC. He was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He graduated in 1955 with a B.S. in Marketing and Management. Fred married Louise Wolf, his former high school classmate, on April 24, 1955. Fred & Lou are true soul mates, enjoying 60 years of marriage together. Fred’s family was very important to him and he was a great Husband, Father, and Grandfather. The couple first lived in Texas while Fred served as a Lieutenant in the US Air Force. They returned to Burley after Fred was honorably discharged in 1958 and later moved to Twin Falls where they have lived for the past 48 years. After 24 years as a Manager and Partner in Spencer’s Office Supply Stores, Fred made a career change in 1982 and became a Financial Advisor. He was a Branch Manager with A. G. Edwards & Sons until his retirement in 2003. Fred was an avid golfer and spent many happy hours with friends at Blue Lakes Country Club. He also enjoyed bridge, reading, and travel and was a member of the Twin Falls Rotary Club and a Past President of Blue Lakes Country Club. Fred was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word and will be remembered for his kind heart and wonderful sense of humor with a special gift for telling funny stories. He made friends wherever he went. Fred was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Michael Nelson. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Louise Nelson of Twin Falls; a son, Craig (Carolyn) Nelson of Twin Falls; a daughter, Anne (Steve) Miller of Boise; and two Grandchildren, Erik Miller and Katherine Miller, both of Boise. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Avenue East in Twin Falls with a reception to follow.
